The Oyster Bar at Prohibition was a downtown Houston raw bar and casual Gulf Coast seafood concept housed inside the Prohibition Supperclub & Theatre at 1010 Prairie St. The venue built its reputation on the 'Oyster Apocalypse' — 50-cent raw Gulf oysters and $1 chargrilled oysters all day Monday — plus a robust weekday happy hour with $1 oysters and discounted craft cocktails from 4–7 pm. Beyond oysters, the kitchen served New Orleans-style barbecue shrimp, andouille boards, cornmeal-crusted crab cakes, and smoked fried chicken, all in an animated theater-adjacent atmosphere that attracted downtown office workers, date-nighters, and burlesque-show audiences alike. It was connected to the Conservatory food hall below, making it a natural anchor for a full evening out. The venue permanently closed in 2025.
