The Honeymoon Cafe & Bar was a beloved all-day downtown Houston destination at 300 Main St that seamlessly transitioned from a morning artisan coffee shop — powered by a partnership with Boomtown Coffee — to a late-night cocktail bar. The food menu drew heavily from Creole New Orleans tradition, featuring dishes like beignets, grillades & grits, and duck & sausage gumbo alongside French-inflected sandwiches and salads. The cocktail program, conceived by Justin Burrow of nearby Bad News Bar, was widely considered one of the best in downtown, with a focus on technique-driven, picture-perfect classics. The light-filled, casually elegant space attracted downtown office workers by day and a savvy bar crowd by night. NOTE: This business is permanently closed; it was rebranded as Boomtown Coffee Main St. Café & Bar in March 2018.
