Cecil's Pub is a beloved Houston neighborhood bar with nearly 40 years of history, originally founded as Blythe Spirits in 1985 before reopening as Cecil's in 1990 at 600 W. Gray. Known as a true locals' institution, it draws a loyal crowd with its unpretentious, comfortable atmosphere, extensive selection of local and imported beers, wines, and cocktails, and legendary weekly Steak Nights. The original jukebox — famously one of the best in Houston — and the pool tables survived a 2004 fire and still anchor the experience, alongside a newly remodeled pet-friendly patio with a big-screen TV.
