Axelrad Beer Garden
Axelrad Beer Garden is a point of interest in Midtown, Houston, Texas, located at 1517 Alabama Street, Houston, TX 77004, Houston, TX.
Axelrad Beer Garden is a sprawling, dog- and family-friendly beer garden in Houston's Midtown, set on the site of a former 1920s grocery store run by the Axelrad family. It's known for its grove of hammocks, oversized communal picnic tables, a shared patio with Luigi's Pizzeria, and a packed calendar of live music, DJ nights, comedy, film screenings and art events. The vibe is deliberately laid-back and inclusive — "super casual, come as you are" — with a full bar of craft beer, wine, seasonal cocktails and strong non-alcoholic/mocktail options. Kids and leashed, well-behaved dogs are welcome during the day before the space shifts to 21+ later at night. It suits groups looking for outdoor drinks, food trucks, and a community-driven, festival-like atmosphere rather than a quiet sit-down bar.
